Project details

In 2021 Drees & Sommer completed the construction of its own new company building at its headquarters in Stuttgart-Vaihingen, which meets all modern requirements for sustainability and digitalization. As an internal company project, the construction project offered the unique opportunity to integrate promising future technologies in the construction industry for itself and generate valuable insights for customer projects. Drees & Sommer was therefore implementing numerous pioneering and innovative technologies in the building, almost all of which were carried out in-house. The key success factor of the construction project was the breadth of Drees & Sommer's many different service areas, which were all working together to realize this future-oriented project. These in-house service areas were complemented by the valuable expertise of various customers and business partners, who were working with Drees & Sommer to drive forward key innovative parts of the project.

As a plus-energy building, the company headquarters is fully in line with Drees & Sommer's climate-positive approach: By combining various energy solutions, the building generates more energy than it consumes in standard operation. In addition to workplaces for around 200 employees, the new building, which is around 20 meters high and 70 meters long, also includes a flexible conference area, various meeting rooms, a cafeteria, a large canteen, an underground car park and covered bicycle parking spaces. The building's mobility concept includes e-charging stations, car sharing and parking space management. Numerous digital technologies are also used in the building itself, which makes life easier for employees, customers and service providers in the building when it comes to services such as access authorizations, booking conference rooms or automated temperature and light settings in the offices.
