CHRISTOPH SCHMIDT APPOINTED AS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR OF DREES & SOMMER HUNGARY

Drees & Sommer, a global consulting company providing a single source of consultation and implementation services for real estate, industry, and infrastructure, is expanding its management team in Hungary. Christoph Schmidt has been appointed as the new managing director, taking over the responsibilities of Philipp Gansch, who joined the Drees & Sommer Group partnership and is now focusing on corporate and business development in several European countries, including Hungary. Christoph Schmidt’s main responsibilities will be in the automotive sector and leading local industrial projects within an international management framework. He will join Ákos Koloszár, who currently manages Drees & Sommer’s business activities in the Hungarian market.

Christoph Schmidt has spent the past two years as the Lead of Automotive for the CEE region and Austria, with a strong track record of projects in production, retail, and mobility for both leading international brands and local companies across the region. With the company’s expansion in the Hungarian market, he takes on a new managerial role to enhance Drees & Sommer’s international automotive expertise by bringing the latest industry developments to the local market.
Drees & Sommer supports its clients in process and plant planning for both greenfield and brownfield projects, supply concepts for Smart Factories, CI implementation rollouts, business case and location analyses for retailers and plants, sustainability and digitalisation consulting and implementation services and e-mobility and infrastructure development.

Christoph Schmidt has been part of the Drees & Sommer team since 2017. He has mainly worked as a Senior Project Manager at Drees & Sommer Austria, leading local industrial and real estate projects in various segments with a strong focus on Key Account Management. Furthermore, as the Lead of Automotive for Austria and the CEE region, he has extensive experience in the automotive industry, having supported projects from car dealerships to production plants in Austria, as well as in Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic.

"I am pleased to join our team in Hungary and contribute to our success in this market, particularly in the automotive and industry segments. By leveraging our expertise and strong network in these sectors in Germany and Austria, I look forward to further developing these segments in Hungary and the wider region, as well as supporting the implementation of the latest industry innovations driven by our Group. In doing so, we will always take into account the specific conditions of the domestic market to ensure their success and high added value for our clients in each market," says Christoph Schmidt, Managing Director, Drees & Sommer Hungary.
