Interxion: A Digital Realty Company is a leading provider of carrier and cloud-neutral colocation data centre solutions and is building a new data centre to expand its Zurich campus in Rümlang. The new ZUR3 site will be built in three phases and, once completed, will comprise over 11,400 m2 of white space and an IT load of 24 megawatts (MW).
 
Adjacent to Interxion's existing ZUR1 and ZUR2 facilities, the latest addition to the Interxion Zurich Campus will benefit from the same high network connectivity available at the company's existing data centres in the same location. 
 
Drees & Sommer Switzerland acted as general planner for the project for RIBA phases 1 to 3, with Drees & Sommer Luxembourg SARL responsible for the building services and ATP architekten ingenieure for the architecture and structural engineering.
 
A consistently applied lean design management approach in the planning enabled the ambitious schedule and cost targets to be met.
