The Wohnungsbau Rüschlikon foundation has built 21 age-appropriate flats in two building complexes in a central location right next to the railway station in Rüschlikon. The development impresses with its elaborate clinker brick façade, the high ceiling height of up to 2.60 metres and the high-quality materials used. Thanks to the good modelling of the building volume, the large number of small flats all have a view of Lake Zurich and plenty of sunshine.
The two buildings were realised by the consortium Pablo Horváth, architect SIA/SWB, and Alex Zoanni, Baumanagement AG in Chur, who qualified for the project in a public architectural competition. Drees & Sommer Switzerland acted as client representative for this challenging project and supported the new construction project with regard to sustainability consulting, public procurement, stakeholder management, cost management, architecture and building law (appeal procedure). To ensure that the project objectives could be met on time, Drees & Sommer Switzerland acted as the client's representative and project manager, was the single point of contact for all planners and service providers and informed the client about construction progress every 4-6 weeks. The construction project, which was very much in the public eye, was completed on schedule and the building was occupied on time.
