dsa-engineering GmbH, which was established in 2003 and has 12 employees, has its origins in structural steelwork. Since then it has steadily expanded its field of activity in the automotive industry. The factory planning specialists, whose main business is in conveyor technology and process plant, have collaborated with Drees & Sommer in the automotive industry for more than six years on the building of new plant structures. In particular, this involves consulting and conceptual design in a very early phase, in which strategies emerge from initial visions and ideas: this includes basic evaluations and digital visualization.
Peter Tzeschlock, Chairperson of the Executive Board of Drees & Sommer, commented: ‘The acquisition of dsa-engineering enables Drees & Sommer to make an earlier market entry into the automotive industry, enabling us to take much more responsibility for planning and implementing future processes and achieve greater success right from the start. It also means we can offer our clients a much broader overall package, ranging from planning to implementation of the building structure.’
To reflect the change of ownership, the words ‘Part of Drees & Sommer’ will be added to the brand name. For the time being, the 12 new staff members will continue to be based in the German town of Gärtringen, which is only 15 kilometers from Drees & Sommer’s headquarters. Managing directors Guido Darnieder and Dr. Jörg-Matthias Böttiger will in future be responsible for the service portfolio at dsa-engineering, Part of Drees & Sommer.
