Play Green - Think Green
Can a golf course contribute to the energy transition and save money at the same time? - YES!
Drees & Sommer has been a proud cooperation partner of the BVGA since 2023. Together, they are developing a comprehensive concept in which over 720 golf courses in Germany and 35,000 golf courses worldwide can participate. The aim is not only to promote electromobility on golf courses, but also to reduce emissions and increase efficiency in water consumption through digitalisation and artificial intelligence. An exciting initiative that is driving forward the sustainable operation of golf courses!
Our analysis of the golf course covers various aspects. In terms of energy, we identify the main consumers, including irrigation pumps, mowers, golf carts and the catering facilities in the clubhouse. Our aim is to achieve a high degree of self-sufficiency by focussing on generating and storing our own electricity.
We are also developing a digital water concept to maximise efficiency. We take into account the flora and fauna of the plant and optimise it according to the latest biological findings. We also look for funding opportunities to keep the investment costs as low as possible. The result will be an ecologically and economically optimised plant that can be operated sustainably.
We would like to invite you to a joint "Business Breakfast". Here we will introduce you to future concepts and technologies.

Bidirectional charging: Utilise renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power to supply the golf course with electricity.
Mobility turnaround: Electric vehicles and smart charging infrastructure contribute to sustainable mobility on the golf course.
Funding opportunities: What is subsidised by the state and federal government?
Self-generated electricity: Use renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power to supply the golf course with electricity.
Greenkeeping: Focus on sustainable maintenance of green spaces. Reduce water consumption and use environmentally friendly fertilisers.
Biodiversity: Create habitats for animals and plants on the golf course. Near-natural areas promote biodiversity.
