BMW Center of Excellence for Battery Cells (BCCC)
Munich: At the Battery Cell Competence Center, experts are researching the relevant materials for future batteries and their recycling processes. This research and expertise on the interaction of materials makes a significant contribution to the development of the cell design of the future. The entire process of the value chain is considered here. To this end, the BCC has state-of-the-art facilities and methods as well as comprehensive test fields and facilities for checking product safety.
BMW Cell Manufacturing Competence Centre (CMCC)
Parsdorf: In the Battery Cell Manufacturing Competence Center, the BMW Group bundles the entire expertise for product and process. The new battery cell samples of the “Neue Klasse" will be produced at the CMCC for the first time from 2025. The CMCC is also already implementing and further developing the sustainable recycling process for the production processes and taking a holistic view of the recyclability of the batteries.
