The final workshop of Re-Building Europe took place in Oslo on the 27th and 28th of October. Along with our hosts Swiss Life Asset Managers and Snohetta and 25 participants, we discussed Smart, Green and Social: The Future of Urban Districts.
Keynote: Jette Hopp
We kicked-off on the 27th with a keynote by Jette Hopp, Partner at Snohetta about the current challenges we are facing in urban district development.
Workshop I
Followed by the workshop introduction by Dr. Daniel Wurstbauer from Swiss Life and Steffen Braun from IAO Fraunhofer Institute, the participants pulled-up their sleeves and started into a successful workshop session.
Evening event
In the evening we had the chance to visit the opera house, a lighthouse project by Snohetta and enjoy a delicious dinner in the city center.
Panel
On the 28th we kicked off with a panel including Henrik Morgen, Bable Smart-Cities / Roar Thun Wægger, Wægger Negotiation Institute and Steffen Braun, IAO Fraunhofer Institute.
Workshop II
In the second workshop session we concluded the concept of a future district including mobility, diversity, different forms of land-use and governance.
Impressions
In collaboration with Drees & Sommer International, we are organizing the final forum on 30th of November in London to present the results of our workshops and discuss the future development of neighborhoods.
