The Märkisches Viertel estate was built between 1963 and 1974 as a large residential development. In the context of the overall rehabilitation of the district in northern Berlin (entire renovation stock approximately 13,000 apartments by 2016), Drees & Sommer managed the rehabilitation of apartment building groups 916, 911, 912, 922 and 917 with a total of approximately 3,600 apartments.
