As owner of the residential and commercial building at Waltersbachstrasse 4 in Zurich, BVK is completing the idyllic courtyard setting between Waltersbachstrasse, Beckenhofstrasse and Schaffhauserstrasse in the city's district 6. With a volume of almost 7,000 m3, the building offers space for twelve 2.5-room apartments as well as generous commercial space on the ground floor and lower level. The areas combine urban spatial features, interesting designs and construction to Minergie standard, to create a high-quality oasis of well-being. In particular, the duplex apartments on the top two floors offer exceptional quality of space, due to their extra height and an open-plan layout featuring rooms flooded with light. The volumetric roof design, in a number of different shapes and slopes, and the French balconies with bent metal railings give the building an urban character, without losing the traditionally physical appearance of homeliness.
