Usage concept – Rems-Murr District Administration
Rems-Murr District Administration (Waiblingen)
Waiblingen, Baden-Württemberg
Mid-2017 to mid-2023
Approx. €27 million
170 workplaces for 210 employees (desk-sharing factor approx. 1.25)
Baden-Württemberg’s Rems-Murr District Administration has implemented a new, modern usage concept for its Public Health, Immigration and Public Order Departments. The bright office spaces have been redesigned and divided into three zones: public, semi-public, and internal.
The public zone is accessible to the general public. It is intended for initial discussions and straightforward matters that do not require a confidential setting. The semi-public zone is for consultations between administrative staff and customers. The restricted internal zone accommodates a total of 210 employees, who share 170 desks in a multispace office. This staff area also includes small interdepartmental ‘coffee hubs’ and a large break room with a roof-top terrace.
The new usage concept also contributes to sustainability goals: 60 bicycle parking spaces, as well as charging facilities for e-bikes and EVs, will help promote climate-conscious mobility. Showers, a towel service and lockers are available for employees who use their morning commute or lunch break for sporting activities.
