The administration building in Cologne’s Sedanstrasse is a seven-storey with two basement levels and a two-storey block with a basement in the courtyard.

The Drees & Sommer team has been tasked with undertaking comprehensive revitalization of the building. This includes renovation of the building envelope, installation of new plant and equipment, and contemporary fitout to create a modern work environment.

Special features of the project include sustainability aspects such as a green oasis in the courtyard, DGNB certification, and the provision of EV charging stations. Renewable energy is supplied by Solarshift modules with groundwater also serving as a primary energy source.

Drees & Sommer has already put digital transformation of the building on track with a DigitalReady check. The overall goal is to respond to the new work environment through energy-efficient refurbishment and modernization, thus ensuring the future viability of the building.
