The newly built Weleda Cradle Campus in Schwäbisch Gmünd brings construction into harmony with people and nature. Weleda AG has built a modern logistics center, complete with high-bay storage as well as functional and administrative buildings on a 72,000 square meter site. The campus of the global market leader for certified natural cosmetics and anthroposophic medicines, which will be completed in 2024, sets new standards for sustainability and mindfulness.

The new construction consists of several buildings that integrate harmoniously into their surroundings and incorporate natural materials such as wood and rammed earth. Geothermal energy and its own solar panels ensure entirely emission-free operation of the campus. The solar panels not only generate energy, but also provide shade for the glass façades.

The project has been awarded the DGNB preliminary platinum certificate, the highest possible rating of the German Sustainable Building Council. The Drees & Sommer team supported the client with project management and consulting services.
