OPEN SPACES FOR OPEN MINDS

A rethink out of necessity: to transform a classic open-plan office to multiple-use non-territorial areas – what does that mean in essence? Being able to rethink something means you need to have precise knowledge about it up front. The cornerstone of this project was an intensive phase of analysis with a deliberately heterogeneous choice of contributors, which produced an exact brief for the concept.

We developed an adaptable workplace concept that fulfils the requirements of different work functions, manages the space in a responsible manner, simultaneously promotes interdisciplinary communication, supports key processes, and enables all employees to fully experience the BMW brand.

This resulted in new project-oriented modules, purposely located far away from the employees’ desks to provide a contrast when working in them. The overall setting was complemented by an attractive conference zone for large events, an open, shared workplace concept for top management, and a multi-functional company restaurant.
