Drees & Sommer will support the UNITED HEAT project to decarbonize the heat supply in the city of Görlitz, home to around 55,000 residents, through 2029. The company’s experts will be project management consultants (PMC) for the project.
This flagship project demonstrates how innovative technologies can shape the future of sustainable heat and energy supply when adopting a holistically planned approach.
Cross-border decarbonization
Stadtwerke Görlitz AG plays a central role in the project as the client. Close collaboration with Drees & Sommer as PMC lays the foundation for successful project implementation. The PMC role includes the coordination and monitoring of all project phases—from planning through execution to commissioning and specialized technical consulting. The company can thus ensure all parties work efficiently together and adhere to high quality standards.
Drees & Sommer’s proven expertise in consulting and project management makes it ideally placed to overcome challenges in close coordination with the client. Back in 2022, Drees & Sommer conducted a feasibility study for this project as part of the Zero Carbon Initiative.
