Expansion and functional refurbishment
Architect: DI Oskar Leo Kaufmann and Albert Rüf Ziviltechniker GmbH
Functions: After the demolition of two existing buildings from the 1970s, the new building was constructed, which includes an underground car park with 50 parking spaces as well as an exercise room for the practice schools. At the same time, the refurbishment or adaptation of the "central wing", which was converted into a special teaching tower and contains rooms for artistic education, works, physics/biology/chemistry and teaching kitchens, took place.
In addition, the existing building in the west will be extensively refurbished and expanded. In this section there are 21 seminar rooms and three IT halls. The sports wing is also being renovated in the course of construction.
The parts of the building are connected via the all-round glazed ground floor. Here you will find a company kitchen, buffet, dining rooms, auditoriums, library and two large lecture halls.
Adressed Challenges:
- Complex static strengthening of existing buildings
