After 22 extremely successful years at Drees & Sommer, Peter Tzeschlock has decided to end his professional career. He started work at Drees & Sommer in 1996, initially in Facility Management and Building Consulting. In 2001, he joined the shareholder consortium at Drees & Sommer AG as a partner. From 2004 onward, he was Management Spokesperson at Drees & Sommer Advanced Building Technologies. Peter Tzeschlock was appointed to the Executive Board of Drees & Sommer AG in 2008 and was named Spokesperson of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer in 2013.
‘We are sorry to see such a successful colleague go, of course, but I am thrilled for him that he is going to be able to make this dream come true. He played a key role in shaping the firm’s positive course over the last few years. On behalf of the whole Supervisory Board and the partners, I would like to take this opportunity to thank him sincerely for everything he has done,’ said Supervisory Board Chairperson Prof. Dr. Hans Sommer.
The Supervisory Board, the whole of the Executive Board, and the partners have prepared strategically and reached a mutual agreement on the leadership change. Executive Board members Dierk Mutschler and Steffen Szeidl will manage the group of companies in close collaboration with the Supervisory Board and the partners using a dual leadership model.
The partners will also be given an expanded remit and take on additional responsibility in connection with this move.
The decision to leave was not an easy one for Peter Tzeschlock, ‘because Drees & Sommer is a fascinating company. It was exactly the professional challenge I ever since wanted — and I was always happy to shoulder the associated responsibility. I would like to thank the Supervisory Board, my fellow executives, and the partners for working with me in a spirit of great trust. I wish everyone who works at the firm all the best for the future. Drees & Sommer is superbly positioned and will continue to be skippered through safe waters as it heads into the future while I skipper my own boat from harbor to harbor. I will, of course, watch developments at the company with interest from afar.’
The management team and staff at Drees & Sommer would like to thank Peter Tzeschlock sincerely for his outstanding work, which was always constructive, solution-driven, and forward-looking.
Even though he is leaving the company, he will remain a firm friend.
Prof. Dr. Hans Sommer
